I was reminded of something I wanted to start this year, a vegetable garden. I've been doing some research about what I should start with and when. I don't want to over do it so I am only going to start with probably five things. The only thing I know for sure I want to grow this year is tomatoes. Some of the things I am considering are potatoes, blueberries, some sort of lettuce, bean sprouts, bell peppers, jalapenos and a green bean or snap peas.
If you have ever started a garden and have some pointers for a starter, I would love to hear from you. I'm also going to start a small herb garden on my front porch. I plan on getting a few small baskets to attach to the rail. I like that where my porch is the herbs will get plenty of sun but out of the direct heat during the hottest part of the day.
I haven't figured out where I will be doing my garden yet. I found a pin on Pinterest talking about plants that do well in containers. Containers could be beneficial to me since I am a renter. That way I am not doing anything to upset the landlord and if we move while I still have it, we can transfer a whole lot easier.
I want to start some seeds soon indoors. That way by the time spring gets here they will be ready to move outdoors. I have tomatoes now that I could seed but will have to buy seeds for whatever else I am planting. Once I get it started I will post some pictures.
I grew green and yellow beans, Oinions, and Chives all on my apartment patio. It was easy and nice to have :)
